Armen Takhtajan

Poor Tachtadschjan (Armenian Արմեն Թախտաջյան, Russian Армен Левонович Тахтаджян / arms Lewonowitsch Tachtadschjan, .. * 28 Maijul / June 10 1910greg in Shusha, Russian Empire, today Azerbaijan ( Nagorno-Karabakh ), † 13 November, 2009 St. Petersburg ) was a Armenian Soviet botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Takht. ".

Life

Tachtadschjan worked in Leningrad, and focused in particular on the evolution and systematics of higher plants. In particular, his published in 1997 Systematics is a reference work of based on morphological, physiological and cytological characteristics of plant system of higher plants ( see classification of angiosperms after Tachtadschjan ).
