Army National Guard

The Army National Guard ( official abbreviation: ARNG ) is the Department of the Army National Guard of the United States. As an organized militia it is subject according to the Militia Act, a federal law of the United States from 1903, the governors of the states that are committed to equip these contingents. As a military reservoir of the land forces, the National Guard is in third place behind the regular Army and Army Reserve.
