Arnold Schulman

Arnold Schulman ( born August 11, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American playwright, screenwriter, film producer, songwriter and writer. As a theater actor, he joined with the American Theatre Wing long and The Actors Studio on.

Life

Schulman grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill writing. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1946 after New York City. There he studied with Robert Anderson dramaturgy at the American Theatre Wing. His first works were recorded in the 1950s for television. He used this as a springboard for his Hollywood career from 1957.

First work in Hollywood in 1957 Wild is the Wind, a remake of the storms of passion (1947). For this film, he received his first nomination from the Writers Guild of America for Best Original Screenplay. It was followed by two more: too big for a number (1959 ) and Love with a stranger (1963). For the latter he was nominated for an Oscar in 1963. Another Oscar nomination was in 1970 for the screenplay for To hell with the innocence with which he finally won the Writers Guild of America. In 1994 he won the Humanitas Prize for ... and life goes on. In addition, he received a CableACE Award.

In the movie game with the love Schulman is mentioned in the credits, but had himself contributed nothing to the film. He had withdrawn his participation too late.
