Arnoldus van Anthonissen

Arnoldus van Anthonissen (* around 1631 probably in Leiden, † about 1703 in Zierikzee ), called Aernout, was a Dutch painter, who worked as a house painter, marble and marine painter, businessman, and probably also as an art dealer.

Life

Arnoldus van Anthonissen was born as the son of the painter Hendrick van Anthonissen and his wife Judith Flessiers to 1631. This inaccurate date and probable place of birth suffering arise from the fact that Hendrick van Anthonissen and his wife in 1632 donned a will and is considered their children. 1661 Arnoldus van Anthonissen is appointed as a house painter in Leiden and in the following year as captain of the Guild of St. Luke.
