Life

Arnuwanda was the son of the Hittite Great King Suppiuliuma I. During his father's reign he led successful campaigns in Syria. So he commanded, and others, together with his brother Zida, an army intervened in favor of the heir to the throne Šattiwazza in Mittani. As Suppiuliuma died of disease, Arnuwanda was Great King. He fell ill with the same disease, where his father had died.
