Arsacid Dynasty

Arsacid is the name of the Parthian Arsaces I. justified dynasty, BC began with the subjugation of Persia from 240.

The Arsacid finally established the Parthian Empire and pushed back the Seleucids, who ruled after the death of Alexander the Great of Persia. The last Arsacid Great King, Artabanus IV was 224 AD by the Sassanid Ardashir I killed, who then seized power in the Reich itself and was 226 crowned king of kings. In Armenia, the Arsacid dynasty, however, were as yet about 200 years hold (up to 428) - though last under Persian suzerainty. Even in the sixth century mentioned late ancient Roman authors such as Prokopios Armenian nobles who identified themselves as Arsacid. Furthermore, there were side lines of the Arsacid as ruler in Iberia and Albania.
