Arthur Dickinson

Arthur Dickinson (born 19 century; † November 1930 ) was a coach and manager of Sheffield Wednesday.

Career

Dickinson in 1891 was the first manager of Sheffield Wednesday. He has to have all coaches of the club the best record. In 919 games, it was under Dickinson 393 wins, 338 losses and 188 draws. With 29 years of continuous tenure, he would also refer to the longest time as Sheffieldtrainer. With Sheffield him reach the championship twice and twice winning the FA Cup. In the season 1919/20, due to poor placement of his team he gave his immediate resignation, but he could be convinced to coach the team until the end of the season. Sheffield finished the season as a 22 with a gap of 13 points on the 21th Place. This result meant relegation to the Football League Second Division. Only in the season 1925/26, managed under Robert Brown to rise again. Dickinson died in November 1930.
