Arthur Somare

Arthur Somare is a politician in Papua New Guinea.

Somare has since 1997 Member of the Angoram Open Electorate ( East Sepik Province ) in the National Parliament. The first born son of Sir Michael Somare, the multiple prime minister of Papua New Guinea had, during his time held several ministerial posts in the parliament, including that of Minister of Communications and the Minister of Planning.

In early 2006, he resigned after allegations of his ministerial posts. Like his father, he is a member of the National Alliance Party.
