Articolo 31

Articolo 31 is an Italian hip-hop band that was founded in 1990.

Band History

J Ax (aka Alessandro Aleotti ) and DJ Jad (aka Luca Perrini ) first met at a party in Milan know. In the same year they decided to form a group. At first she wanted to Articolo 41, what is the legal basis in Italy, after which one can be freed because of a " nervous syndrome " by the Italian military service call. However, an Italian professor told them the name Articolo 31 to take advantage of the sanctioned freedom of speech of the media in the Irish Constitution.

Beginnings and successes of the band

With their single Tocca QUI from the album Strade di Città, they managed to land the first Italian hip- hop band in the Italian charts. 1996 came out their album Così Com'è, which was just like the previous album by Franco Godi produced. The plate was a great success and Articolo 31 an integral part of the Italian music scene. Così Com'è was also published in Switzerland and Germany with a respectable success, to which was followed by a lasting from 1996 to 1997 tour.

In 1999, the album xchè sì with the participation of artists such as Kurtis Blow, Carmelo Saez Mendoza, Paolo Brera and Gemelli Diversi was taken.

In their sixth album Domani Smetto their music got a new sound that combines elements of rock, pop and punk added to the rap. Thanks to this album, the duo were so well known that they have been invited regularly at TRL. In 2003 she appeared so far last album Italiano Medio, which connects to the previous one previous album pop, rock and rap elements. In the same year also appeared the first live album La Riconquista Del Forum: Live.

Break and solo career

In 2005, she announced to take a break to concentrate on her solo career. DJ Jad continued to work as a DJ and has released his 2006 album MILANO -NEW YORK. J Ax has put his album DI SANA PIANTA on the market on 1 October 2006.
