Artus Wolffort

Arthur Wolffordt (* 1581 in Antwerp, † 1641 ibid.) (also: Wolfaerts, Wolffort, Wolfert ) was a Flemish painter.

Shortly after his birth his parents moved to Dordrecht. On December 29, 1603 he became a member of the Guild of St. Luke, but soon removed from her, since he was not wealthy enough. In 1615 he became an assistant of Otto van Veen in Antwerp. 1617 he reportedly at St. Paul's Cathedral in Antwerp painted at the altar The Resurrection and the Assumption.

In his workshop numerous works with religious themes have emerged.

Among his pupils were Pieter Van Mol and Pieter van Lint.
