As Cities Burn

As Cities Burn ( ACB) is founded in 2002, indie band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Over the albums her style of an initially rather screamo influenced post-hardcore ( " Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest " ) developed strong on, on a more progressive, but quieter variety ( " Come Now Sleep" ) to the indie rock ( " Hell or high Water "). They dissolved in 2009 due to family reasons, but gave in 2011 about Facebook announced that they would reunite.

History

The beginnings and " Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest " (2002-2006)

When not under contract band they attracted the attention of Solid State Records, a subsidiary of Tooth & Nail Records on themselves, they took them under contract in 2004.

There appeared on 21 June 2005 their debut album " Son, I Loved You At Your Darkest " whose sound was influenced primarily by the post-hardcore. The vocal emphasis was on the screams of TJ Bonnette, backing vocalist was his younger brother Cody Bonnette. All in all, the album had a very dark, dramatic and melancholic sound. The song " The Widow ", which is mainly dominated by Cody's clean vocals, gave a first clue how As Cities Burn would sound later after the departure of TJ.

Hiatus and "Come Now Sleep" (2006-2008)

On 10 June 2006, the band announced the end of As Cities Burn, in July they decided after massive support of their fans, however, but to keep going. Reason for a resolution was mainly the exit of the singer TJ Bonnette. On December 17th, the band released a first new song from the upcoming album via MySpace and PureVolume, which they recorded in early 2007. Fans were surprised especially by the complete absence of Screams, which were a key element of their music to date and have now been replaced by Cody Bonnettes clear vocals.

On 12 April 2007 As Cities Burn released the title of her new album, " Come Now Sleep" which also appeared on August 14, 2007 on Tooth & Nail Records.
