Asad Durrani

Muhammad Asad Durrani ( درانی; Durrani ) ( born February 7, 1941 in Lahore ) is a former Pakistani diplomat and head of intelligence services.

Life

Muhammad Asad Durrani belongs to a Pashtun tribal confederation, which ruled over the Durrani Empire.

From 1957 to 1959 he earned a Bachelor of Government College University Lahore and took a postgraduate course at the Pakistan Military Academy. In 1960 he was appointed lieutenant of artillery. In 1965, the second Indian Pakistani war, he was promoted to colonel. He was promoted to Major in 1968 and was employed in December 1971 in the war against India. In 1975, he completed a general course at the Staff College in Hamburg. From 1980 to 1984 he was military attaché in Bonn. From 1988 to 1989 he headed the Military Intelligence and Investigation ( MI).
