Asbjørn 'Bear' Riis

Asbjørn ' Bear ' Riis ( born July 28, 1957 in Nykøbing Mors, Mors, Denmark ) is a Danish wrestler, actor and bodybuilder.

Life

Asbjørn Riis is a native of the Danish island of Mors. He is best known for the role of the 10th Warrior Halga, in the movie The 13th Warrior, starring Antonio Banderas, internationally. He has worked as a television presenter and since the 1990s, where he WWF and WCW presented on the Danish TV channel TV3. Riis created his stage name " The Great Danish Bear" in 1991, which is its image today.

In addition, he is also known as a bodybuilder and model and also operates a school for professional wrestling, which is the only one in Denmark.

He is a good friend of the actor and bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sven- Ole Thorsen. He has four sons and one of them, Klaus Myren Riis is, after being trained by his father, now also active as a wrestler.
