Asda

Asda Stores Ltd. (Proper spelling ASDA, short for Asquith Dairies after the company's founders Fred and Peter Asquith ) is a British supermarket chain based in Leeds. After Tesco ASDA holds the second largest market share in the UK market. Since 1999 it belongs to the American Walmart Group.

Background

The company Asda was founded in 1965 by a group of farmers from Yorkshire.

She took over some of the former hypermarkets of the Woolworths Group and 2011 were 194 British branches of the Danish net taken. Asda has distributed a total of 576 branches across the UK. In 2000 opened the first Asda Walmart Trade Centre ( " Super Centers " ) in Bristol.
