Asia (mythology)

Asia (Greek Ἀσία ) is a Oceanid Greek mythology, daughter of Oceanus and Tethys.

She is in the Libraries of Apollodorus and in Aeschylus the wife of the Titan Iapetus and mother of Prometheus, Atlas, Epimetheus and Menoitios. In Hesiod is named as the mother Oceanid Clymene.

According to Herodotus, she is the wife of Prometheus. According to her, the Asian continent to be named.
