Asius (mythology)

Asius (Greek Ἄσιος ), the son of Dymas, in Greek mythology, the brother of Hecuba. He came from Phrygia from the river Sangarius in Bithynia. He was an uncle of Hector, the Trojan hero.

Asius took part in the Trojan War. According to Homer, Apollo took its shape in order to move to the fight with Hector Patroclus. Dictys cretensis reported that Asius was killed by Ajax.
