Aspasia Annia Regilla

Annia Regilla, full name Appia Annia Regilla Atilia Caucidia Tertulla, Greek Ἀππία Ἀννία Ῥήγιλλα, (* 125, † 160), was a wealthy and influential Roman woman who was distantly related to several Roman rulers. She had been about 140/142 that of Herod Atticus woman.

Annia Regilla was the daughter of Appius Annius Gallus ( Suffektkonsul 139 or 140). In Olympia, she was chosen priestess of Demeter and the only woman officially present at the 233 Olympic Games 153. She was there as a priestess, the official founder of Herod Atticus built by her husband Nymphaeum. Even in Athens, she held a priesthood, that of Tyche.

Her death was trying to blame her husband, who is said to have commissioned a freedman, she - while she was pregnant with her sixth child - to slay. Her brother Appius Annius Atilius Bradua (consul 160) complained to his brother so unsuccessful.
