ASRock Inc. is a manufacturer of motherboards, industrial PCs and HTPCs, based in Taiwan, under the direction of Ted Hsu. The company was founded in 2002 and is owned by Pegatron Corporation.

History

ASRock was originally spun off from Asus in 2002 in order to compete with companies like Foxconn in the area of the OEM market. Since then, ASRock was able to increase its presence with individual components in the retail market. The plans to continue to lead the company to the forefront of the industry, originated in 2009 after the IPO on the Taiwan Stock Exchange has been successfully completed.

In 2011, sold eight million ASRock motherboards. ECS and MSI could sell each about seven million motherboards in the period. According to a DigiTimes report, the ASRock is the world's third largest motherboard manufacturer behind ASUSTeK and Gigabyte. Compared to 2009, this is a significant growth. For the first time ASRock placed in 2010 in front of ECS and MSI, ASRock which ascended into the ranks of the major motherboard manufacturers.
