Association of Rambervillers Region communes

The Communauté de communes de la Région de Rambervillers is a municipal merger ( Communauté de communes ) of 20 municipalities in the department of Vosges in Lorraine.

The Local Government Association, founded on 16 November 2006 has 12,027 inhabitants (2008) to 222.63 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 54 inhabitants per km ². Seat of the Association is the city Rambervillers, president of the Association of Local Authorities is Jean -Marc Habert, who officiated as mayor of Domptail.

The Communauté de communes de la Région de Rambervillers is located on the western edge of the Vosges mountains in the southeast of Lorraine. Except for the town of Sainte -Hélène, which belongs to the canton of Bruyeres, all member communities are part of the canton Rambervillers. On the other hand, has nine municipalities of the canton Rambervillers been to any local government association. The entire area of the Association of Local Authorities is drained by the Mortagne River and its tributaries ( Arentèle, Belvitte, Padozel ). A running in a north-south direction foothills of the Vosges forms the eastern border of the association. Here above sea level ( community Housseras ) is reached the highest point of 530 m. The road passes Col de la Chipotte ( 447 m) and the Col du Haut du Bois ( 469 m) lead into the Meurthetal.

The Local Government Association was created to combine the material resources of the community and to coordinate economic development. To the field of the local association includes the harmonization and coordination of matters relating to spatial planning and economic development. This includes the promotion of trade, commerce, industry, agriculture and tourism, but also the regeneration of brownfield sites. The Communauté de communes de la Région de Rambervillers be further has set a goal to work closely in the fields of culture sports and educational facilities, renovation and restoration of water bodies, improving the quality of housing and waste management. In addition, the construction of a retirement home is sought.
