Assynt

The Assynt is situated in the north -west of Scotland and is a district in the west of the county of Sutherland.

Since 1993, most of the territory owned by the cooperative Assynt Crofter 's Trust.

Among the tourist attractions include Ardvreck Castle and Calda House on Loch Assynt. The communities Achmelvich, Clachtoll and Clashnessie offer sandy beaches. The mountains Quinag, Ben More, Canisp, Cul Mor and Suilven are among the highest peaks in the area.

In Assynt, some caves, including the Bone Caves are located at Ichnadamph, which are considered to be the deepest caves in Scotland. Your name refers to prehistoric remains; inter alia, the remains of bears, reindeer, wild cats and humans were found here.
