Astan Quds Razavi

Astan -e Qods -e Razavi (Persian آستان قدس رضوی ) is the administrative organization that looks after the Imam Reza shrine. The name has a variety of spellings ( eg: Astan -e -e Ghuds Razawi ) and means " holy threshold ( = Palace, Tomb ) of Imam Ridha (pers. Reza ) ". Ayatollah Khomeini called Astan -e Qods the heart of Iran.

It is the largest foundation of Iran and the largest landowner in the country. It owns several banks, factories, companies, hotels, shops, museums, libraries and other institutions. Astan -e Qods -e Razavi is one of the oldest organizations, which exists since the death of Imam Reza about 1200 years ago. The main income of the institution are gifts, donations and other overrides to the Imam Reza shrine. The Razavi brand manufactures over 100 different products in our own factories, the Foundation are alone in the headquarters, the Mashhad region, about 700 hectares of land, including the free trade zone Sarakhs. The organization is tax-exempt as a religious foundation and the current leader is Ayatollah Abbas Waizh Tabassi.

History

In the year 818, the eighth Imam Reza died a martyr's death. The small village where this happened was, from then on, the name " place of martyrdom ", now Mashhad. Towards the end of the century, a shrine was built and many pilgrims visit this ever since. In the year 993 the shrine was destroyed, but the reconstruction was followed shortly afterwards and it was extended and embellished. The expansion continued over many years, to the shrine had a grave chamber, a dome and an attached mosque and the village grew into a city. In the 14th century the possession of Astan -e Qods -e Razavi included the shrine, the Bālā Sar mosque, some small buildings on the north side of the shrine and a religious seminar. The rise of the Safavids to power meant not only that the Shia now became the state religion, but that also means that the Imam Reza shrine rose to become one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Islam. Since the shrine was located in a border area, also resistant fortifications were built around him and the city. The foundation itself lost then under the rule of Reza Shah Pahlavi in possession, as this promoted the secularization in the country that was to convey to Iran in the modern world. Some parts of the foundation were nationalized in this course. Although his son Mohammad Reza Pahlavi loosened his course towards the religion, however, the Foundation received only after his fall back their lost property and expanded it since then constantly. After the Iranian Revolution in 1979 the revolutionary leader Ayatollah Khomeini Ayatollah Abbas Waizh Tabassi appointed administrator of the Foundation. This claimed all the property back as well as merits and acquisitions that have been acquired on the basis of Foundation possession. Since then, the capital of the foundation was also used for this purpose the possession of the Foundation to support financially, which led to Astan -e Qods -e Razavi today acts as a tax-exempt major corporation and not only the preservation of the pilgrimage and the care of the sick, poor, orphans, and just serves pilgrims. By his own admission profits are to be inserted from the donations and reinvestment in social and cultural projects, however, the total volume of the foundation compared to the past 1200 years of existence has quadrupled, which makes this assertion seem very doubtful.

Construction

In addition to the line, holding the chairmanship of the Foundation administrator Ayatollah Tabassi to Astan -e Qods -e Razavi shares in four other offices. The Office for support and planning tasks concerned with the donations from the Foundation, created financial plans and budgets are made . Furthermore, this part takes care of the expansions and rated appropriate plans to do so. Other tasks still need the protection of the system, information gathering and processing, and public relations. The Head of Department is Sharbat Dar. The Office for Technical Affairs and the development of the donations in turn is divided into two subunits. The Building Department monitors, secures and maintains the property and the Department for technical equipment is used for connection and maintenance of the operating infrastructure. Conductor is the engineer Ataee. The Office of property and assets regulates matters of urban space, such as the acquisition of permits, legal issues, and is also pursuing debtors and those who violate foundation law. It is also entrusted with the management of the investments, such as the rental or the documentation on the equipment. Head of this department is Mahdi Nejad. The last of the four is the office of the holy places and provisions that treats all religious bodies and affairs in the first place. These include the maintenance of the shrine and the mosque or the care and hygiene of the pilgrims. In addition, special occasions and ceremonies are under their responsibility. Mr. Alavi is the head of this subdivision.
