Asu (also Abewa ) is a nearly extinct language, welchein the villages south of Kontagora in Niger State in Western Nigeria is spoken.
She is a nupoide language and, together with the eponymous Nupe its subgroup Nupe Gbagyi.
The Asu - speakers are increasingly making use of the official language is English, which also serves as a lingua franca for communication with other ethnic groups.
