Asunción Province

Asunción is one of the 20 provinces that make up the Ancash region in Peru. It is bordered on the north by the province of Yungay, in the north- east by the province Carlos Fermín Fitzcarrald, on the southeast by the Huari province and on the west by the province of Carhuaz. The provincial capital is Chacas. In the 528.66 km ² area in the year 2005, there were 9,660 people, which corresponds to a population density of 18.3 inhabitants per km ².
