Athamanika

Kakarditsa, the main peak of the massif Tzoumerka

Tzoumerka (Greek Τζουμέρκα (n. pl. ) ), Also Athamanika ( Αθαμανικά ), is an expanding in north-south direction of the mountain massif of the southern Pindos Mountains in Greece. The massif is located southeast of the Lakmos massif and sets it forth. The north - south extent of Tzoumerka is about 40 km, east- west extension of 15 to 20 km. To the west of Tzoumerka Massif of river Arachthos from the north flows south to its confluence with the Ambracian Gulf, east of the river Achelous from the north flows south to its mouth in the Ionian Sea. Thus, the Tzoumerka massif the watershed between these two great rivers of Greece dar.

Tzoumerka also means the municipal district headquartered in Pramanda ( Πράμαντα ), to include the villages Agnanda ( Άγναντα ) Katarraktis ( Καταρράκτης ) Kalarites ( Καλαρίτες ) and Sirako ( Σιράκο ) include with their traditional stone architecture.

High above the river Matsoukiotiko ( Ματσουκιώτικο ) enthroned in 1212, founded by monks and monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary Kipina in the rock, which is now abandoned and can be visited.
