Atlantic 252

Atlantic 252 was an Irish private stations which spread a receivable in Germany pop music program on the longwave frequency 252 kHz. Atlantic 252 was a joint project of the Irish broadcasting radio Telefís Éireann ( RTÉ ) and the RTL Group. Target area of this commercial radio program were Great Britain and Ireland. Atlantic 252 had to stop at the end of 2001, began broadcasting as the Irish government was not prepared to extend the concession. Today, the Irish radio sends its program RTÉ Radio 1 on that frequency. One particular trademark of the channel were the first promos that have been produced up to the early 1990s by Bumper morning from Nashville, TN on analog tapes. With his deep, distinctive voice, he helped the transmitter to an image that has been copied many times.
