Atlet AB

Atlet AB is a company that produces industrial trucks for indoor and outdoor use and marketed. The company also provides services related to industrial trucks and material handling, such as logistics analyzes, training and service. Its headquarters, production and training facilities located in Mölnlycke Sweden, near Gothenburg.

Atlet is one of Nissan Forklift with offices in Belgium, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Holland, Great Britain, Germany and the USA. There are distributors in a further 36 countries. Sales of Nissan and Atlet together was in 2008 at around 850 million euros. In the last year alone, 2007, sales of Atlet AB was alone at 182 million euros.

History

Knut Jacobsson founded 1958, the company Elitmaskiner in Gothenburg. At that time, the company presented exclusively forklifts for use in warehouses ago. In 1966, the company renamed itself Atlet.

Initially, the firm Handgabelhubwagen ago. Around 1960, the market of electric forklifts and reach trucks dominated. Knut Jacobsson has then invented the Pedestrian stacker, who had a comparable lifting capacity as reach truck, but could be used by its patented side stabilizers in narrow aisles.

Atlet has started in the 1970s with the training of truck drivers. Technical development continued with the computer-based simulation of storage management solutions, automatic stackers and mobile terminal systems. Between 1988 and 1994 Atlet has been involved in development projects in collaboration with physicians and occupational therapists. This collaboration of Tergo ® showed a Reach truck with ergonomic solutions such as mini steering wheel and individually adjustable armrest.

In 2007, Nissan Forklift has - acquired Atlet AB - a subsidiary of Nissan Motor Company. Nissan Motor Company has outsourced the industrial machinery sector and launched 1 October 2010 a new company, the "Nissan Forklift Co., Ltd.. ".
