Atlético Celaya

Club Atlético Celaya is a Mexican football club that was founded in 1994 through the merger of the clubs Atlético Cuernavaca (from the state of Morelos ) and Escuadra Celese de Celaya. Soon Atlético Español merged into the fledgling club. All merged clubs have introduced a piece of their old identity into the new club: Atlético Cuernavaca, the name was chosen ( of course can be found here also the former Atlético Español again), by Celeste de Celaya, the sky-blue colors and Atlético Español heraldic animal, the stomping bull that earned the club the nickname " toros " ( bull ).

Atlético Celaya took in the season 1994 /95 the second league Place one of its predecessor societies and on first attempt the climb. This created a short-term team named CF Cuernavaca Colibries which, however, immediately dismounted and as quickly disappeared again, as it once appeared.

But Atlético Celaya has not since been represented in professional football, so since the same time reactivated older city club Celaya FC represented the city in professional football. This was done by moving the in La Liga 'A' playing CF La Piedad Celaya.
