Colibríes de Morelos

The Club de Fútbol Cuernavaca Los Colibries, better known under his additional title Colibries ( Hummingbirds ), was a Mexican football club from the state of Morelos. Its official headquarters of the association was in the federal capital Cuernavaca, while his home ground, the Estadio Mariano Matamoros, lay in their suburb Xochitepec. Although the club existed only a few months, he played in La Liga, the top division of the Mexican club football.

History

Before the start of the Clausura 2002/ 03 earned a financially strong entrepreneurs from Morelos Erstligalizenz of Club Atlético Celaya and thus laid the foundation for the establishment of the CF Cuernavaca on 10 December 2002. Yet from the beginning, saw the retort club key challenges, where he ultimately failed. His original plan to play in the city Zacatepec failed because of the decisive veto of the resident traditional club CD Zacatepec. But his internal problems should weigh considerably heavier.

First of all, it was envisaged that the previously standing at Atletico Celaya under contract coach Carlos Trucco would assume the new team. But he resigned from his post on January 7, 2003 - just five days before the first game of the Colibries. Thus, rapid action was required so that you could be happy to have with Sergio Rubio ever been found at least a coach, even if it had no top-flight experience. Nevertheless, we had a very promising start, winning the first game at the UNAM Pumas 3-1 and the subsequent first home game 3-0 against Tecos UAG. After four games, the Colibries had already accounted for nine points. However, because of the next six games just two more points were added, said coach Rubio his resignation. He was replaced by the Croats Zlatko Petricevic, but wanted to have detected a conspiracy of some players against him after two games, the players Mario Grana said to have attacked him even physically. Petricevic said goodbye again and succeeded the club in his need to retrieve Rubio. But he also threw after three more games to go begging.

As if that coach carousel would have the club not loaded enough, the players ( the last working day of coach Rubio ) expired on 15th matchday jerseys on the field, with the inscription " Basta de Mentiras " ( roughly: Enough of lies ) were provided. Background of this action was that allegedly promised benefits were paid. For the last four games Rubios former assistant coach Rodolfo Sotelo and Felipe Ocampo had taken over the team that would have managed to end up with 6 wins and 8 losses, despite all the turmoil in the league, if not the score of the CA Celaya had been included in the assessment, which led to the relegation of the club in the second division. Not only that, condemned the FMF the player Jorge Rodriguez for his repeated referee insults to a delicate fine. As this had not remitted his sentence within the prescribed period and also the club only practiced restraint, the Colibries eluded the FMF eligible to play for the second division and awarded it to another, also only in the short term existing association called Trotamundos Tijuana. Thus, the history of Colibries had a quick end.
