Aubigny-sur-Nère

Aubigny -sur- Nere is a commune with 5680 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Cher in the Centre region. It belongs administratively to the district Vierzon and Aubigny-sur- Nere canton, whose main town ( chef -lieu ) it is. Residents Albiniens call themselves.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 60 kilometers southeast of Orléans. Neighboring municipalities are

  • Argent- sur -Sauldre in the north,
  • Blanca Fort in the Northeast,
  • Oizon in the east and southeast,
  • Ennordres in the south and southwest, and
  • Sainte- Montaine in the west and northwest.

The Nere, a tributary of the Sauldre, the city happens. On the eastern boundary of the municipality, the river runs Oisenotte.

Transport links

The main road in the municipality is the department D940 road that leads from Bourges to the north. In Aubigny-sur- Nere place it forms a star-shaped branching into many other roads department. In Aubigny also ends a railway line, which is now no longer in operation and was used for a time for tourist trolley rides with pedal drive ( Vélo - Rail d' Aubigny -sur- Nere ). History

From 1801 it belonged to the defunct since 1926 Sancerre district and then to the district Bourges.
