Auensee

Stretch

The Auensee is located west of Kissing in Aichach- Friedberg (Schwaben, Bavaria).

The Auensee between Lech and gallows creek. One-third of the lake is designated as a nature reserve, while swimming is allowed at the remaining two-thirds of the shore. The northern shore has become established as a nudist area. Parking lots, lawns and water rescue station are available to visitors. The lake can be reached via the B2 or bike over the eastern Lech dam. Kuhsee, Weitmannsee, Ilsesee and Mandichosee located near the Auensee ( along the Lech ). Two identically named lakes are located in Augsburg- Inningen, and west of the Lechstaustufe 22 at Lochbach tapping near King Brunn.

Within the project " Licca Liber " of the water management office Donauwörth the idea to integrate the Auensee in the Lech- renaturation was born. The original artificial as Stretch Auensee would traversed by the renaturation of Lech and thus no longer exist in its current form. Here now a protected nature in the banks of the flooded gravel pit could be affected and swimmers would have to get used of its popular bathing lake to swimming at the beach Lech.
