The mean Aufseßtal
The Aufseß is a 30 km long right tributary of the Wiesentfels in the Franconian Switzerland.
Aufseßquelle
The Aufseßquelle is located on the western outskirts of King field. It is a karst spring, which was designated as a natural monument. A shrine at the source is reminiscent of the murder of the then parish priest radio in 1632. Over the Easter holidays the Aufseßquelle is decorated as an Easter fountain.
Course
The Aufseß flows mainly to the southeast in an increasingly deeper cut into the plateau of the Franconian Alb valley and flows Doos from the right in the Wiesentfels.
Nature and environment
The Aufseß flows Franconian Switzerland Veldenstein Forest amidst the nature park. Between desert stone and Doos there in the valley of Aufseß no road, making the six -kilometer-long valley area suitable as a walking area. The Aufseßtal - trail is a section of the Main-Danube route ( Jura line). The river, which flows into the Wiesentfels and has the same name as the old Frankish noble family of this area, is a very -natural limestone creek trout region. At its confluence with the Wiesentfels the Aufseß formed on a 1850 mined, about three feet high tufa barrier to Doos, once the bulkiest waterfall franc.
Tributaries
It no longer lead tributaries in the Aufseß. However, it receives inflows from divide - and groundwater entrees, as well as some karst springs along the river.
