The Augsburg College is a humanities- oriented college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

It was first founded in 1869 in Marshall, Wisconsin as a theological seminary and was named Augsburg Seminary in memory of the Augsburg Confession. In 1872 moved to Minneapolis. The first students for undergraduate studies began in autumn 1874 and graduated for the first time in spring, 1879. Brief break in 1893, the Friends of Augsburg, from these came in 1897, the Lutheran Free Church. In 1921, the first women were admitted to the program.

Until 1942 the official name of Augsburg Seminary was, then it was renamed to Augsburg College and Theological Seminary, although this name has already been used informally since the 1920s.

After the merger of the Lutheran Free Church with the American Lutheran Church, the Theological Seminary was incorporated into the Luther Seminary in Saint Paul. The official name of the institution that has since been a liberal arts college now went Augsburg College. The students can obtain the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in four years of study. In addition, a master can be achieved in six subjects.
