August Seebeck
Ludwig Friedrich Wilhelm August Seebeck (* December 27, 1805 in Jena, † March 19, 1849 in Dresden ) was a German physicist.
Seebeck was the son of the physicist Thomas Seebeck. From 1824 he studied mathematics and physics in Berlin, took after the dissertation to a teaching career at various schools in Berlin and in 1843 director of the Dresden Technical School, founded in 1818 appointed ( the predecessor of today's University of Technology ). He died of smallpox. His work dealt with optical and acoustic problems.
