Augustos Zerlendis

Augusto Zerlendis ( born November 5, 1886 in Egypt, † 1954 Greek Αύγουστος Ζερλέντης; Avgoustos also Zerlentis ) was a Greek tennis player of the 1920s.

Career

Zerlendis participated in the Olympic Games in 1920 partly in Antwerp, but already retired in his first game against Gordon Lowe from. At the Olympic Games four years later in Paris, he reached the third round in the individual, in which he defeated the Italian Umberto de Morpurgo in three sets. In the doubles competition, he was able to push forward on the side of Pantelis Papadopoulos also up in the third round.

Zerlendis occurred from 1920 to 1929 several times at the Wimbledon Championships at. In 1920 he achieved there by reaching the fourth round in singles his best result. He represented next 1927-1931 his country in the Davis Cup and won nine of 18 games for themselves.
