Augustus Obuadum Tanoh

Augustus Goosie Obuadum Tanoh ( born February 7, 1956 in Ghana) is a Ghanaian politician and party board of the National Reform Party ( NRP), for which he took up as a candidate for president in the 2000 election, but clearly defeated.

Tanoh has stored at the University of Ghana in Legon, a suburb of Accra and at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, USA, the LLB ( Bachelor of Laws ) and the LLM ( Master of Laws ).

Tanoh was a director of WorldSpace Ghana, 1996, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Transport and Commodity General Limited 1993 and executive director of finance and administration of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (1989 to 1992). He also worked as a director and board member of Ecobank Ghana Limited between 1989 and 1992. At the University of Ghana in 1982 he was a lecturer in the Faculty of Law and worked intensively on a political career.

As a member of the Constituent Assembly, he was instrumental in the Ghana's 1992 constitution. Tanoh worked in the service of Ghana as a diplomat and was between 1986 and 1989 member of the delegation of Ghana in the Security Council, the General Assembly and the Commission of the United Nations Law of the Sea.

Before the presidential elections of 2000, the National Reform Party ( NRP) split off from the former President Jerry Rawlings, the National Democratic Congress (NDC ) party and put Tanoh, one on familiar Rawlings as a candidate for the presidential elections. Tanoh defeated by President John Agyekum Kufuor significantly later with 78 629 votes (1.21 %). In the elections to the Ghanaian parliament accounted for the party of Tanoh approximately 2.25 % of the votes, but no seat in Parliament was won.

Tanoh with Karen ( born March 13, 1957) married, who works as a banker in the Ecobank International.
