Aulis Kallakorpi

Aulis Kallakorpi Arnold ( born January 1, 1929 in Kuusankoski; † 15 May 2005 in Mikkeli ) was a Finnish ski jumper. He jumped for the club of his birthplace, the Kuusankosken Urheiluseura.

Kallakorpi belonged Matti Pietikäinen addition, Hemmo Silvennoinen and Eino Kirjonen the Finnish " wonder team ", which dominated the third Four Hills Tournament in winter 1954/55. Under the coach Lasse Johansson they had rehearsed a new jump style and no longer jumped as the rest of the field with out stretched, but applied to the body with arms. In Oberstdorf Kallaskorpi was tied with Kirjonen and shared with him the victory; also the New Year's competition in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he won. However, in the overall ranking him was only the third rank behind Silvennoinen and Kirjonen.

At the Olympic Winter Games 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo, he won the silver medal behind Antti Hyvärinen.
