Nordic skiing at the 1956 Winter Olympics
In the VII Olympic Games 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo eight competitions were held in Nordic skiing. Was newly taken the 3x5 - km relay women. As with the Nordic World Ski Championships in the men's competitions were taken on 15 and 30 kilometers in the Olympic program. The 18- km race was no longer discharged.
The Nordic competitions counted simultaneously for 21 Nordic World Ski Championships, so next Olympic medals and World Championship medals were awarded. The only exception was the Nordic combined, where only Olympic medals were awarded.
