Bengt Eriksson

Bengt Eriksson Bondpä ( born January 22, 1931 in Malung ) is a former Swedish Nordic combined and ski jumping.

At the Olympic Winter Games 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo Eriksson won behind Norwegian Sverre Stenersen the silver medal in the individual Nordic Combined. This Eriksson is still the most successful Swedish Nordic combined at the Olympic Games. Next to him only Sven Israelsson won the bronze medal in 1948. At the Swedish Championships 1958, he won the gold medal on the normal hill. Two years later he was able to repeat this success. In the same year Eriksson started in the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley in the combination, as well as in ski jumping. In ski jumping on the normal hill Eriksson reached the 19th Place and in the individual Nordic combined the 10th place after jumps to 83.5 and 78.0 m. In 1961, Eriksson started at the Four Hills Tournament. By 1963, however, he was able to achieve any great success and ended after the Four Hills Tournament 1962/63 his active career. In 1965 he was awarded for his achievements and successes together with the Finn Arto Tiainen and his countryman Arne Larsen, the Holmenkollen medal.
