FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1933

The 10th Nordic World Ski Championships was held from 8 to February 12, 1933 in Innsbruck, Austria. For the first time a relay race took place. Norwegian athletes did not participate.

The Styrian Harald Bosio won the first medal for Austria in Nordic World Ski Championships.

The Swedish home town of Sven Eriksson was so impressed by the success that they allowed him to take the place name Selånger as his last name, to distinguish themselves from the other many " Eriksson " in this area better. This was called henceforth Sven Selånger.
