Severino Menardi

Severino Menardi ( born November 1, 1910 in Cortina d' Ampezzo, † unknown ) was an Italian winter sports, was active in the Nordic and Alpine skiing disciplines.

Career

His first successes collected Menardi that for the GS Fiamme Gialle started, at the Italian Championships in Alpine skiing. He won the title in the downhill and slalom, and in combination.

At the 1932 Olympics in Lake Placid, he started for the first time in the Nordic disciplines at international level. After Rank 27 in individual ski jumping he reached in cross-country skiing over 18 km single rank 27th in the individual Nordic Combined he reached the 21th place. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1933 in Innsbruck, he reached together with Frederico De Zulian, Andrea Veurich and Sisto Scilligo with the 4 × 10 km relay fifth.

In the Italian Championships in 1933, he won his first title in the Nordic combined and cross-country skiing. In 1934 he again won gold in the Alpine combined. He also reached the slalom and the downhill second place and thus won silver. He also won in the Nordic combined his second title in a row. In 1935, he won gold in the downhill again. In cross-country single about 18 km he reached the bronze medal.

At the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch -Partenkirchen Menardi started again in the Nordic disciplines. In cross-country skiing on 18 km individual, he landed at the end ranked 16th in the individual Nordic Combined he did not come over rank 20 out. With the cross-country season, which also included Giulio Gerardi, Vincenzo Demetz and Giovanni Kasebacher, he missed a medal just barely and landed at the end of rank four.

After Menardi again gained little at the Italian Championships gold in Nordic combined later, he took his last title in this discipline in 1938. Moreover, he reached in 1938 his first and only title in cross-country skiing.
