FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1939

The 16th Nordic World Ski Championships was held in Zakopane from 11 to 19 February 1939. The Polish site was thus for the second time host of the Nordic World Ski Championships.

Military patrol run

Team competition

During the World Cup, a military patrol race was held. The participating teams each consisted of four soldiers, led by an officer who held a gun to the shooting competitions and not mitschoss itself, also a sergeant rank and two enlisted men. Had to be Laid Back by each team closed a stretch of 25 km. The soldiers of the German winning team were members of the 3rd Battalion of the mountain infantry regiment 100 from Bad Reichenhall.
