John Westbergh

John West Bergh (born 6 August 1915 Myckelgensjö (Örnsköldsvik ), † 12 November 2002 in Bredbyn (Örnsköldsvik ) ) was a former Swedish Nordic skier.

Westberg started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1938 in Lahti in combination, ski jumping and cross-country skiing. In the long run, single over 18 km, it achieved this with a time of 1.14,13 28th place. In ski jumping, he reached in the first round 49.5 feet and crashed in the second round. So he reached the 84th place at the end. In the Nordic combined, he won the silver medal behind Norwegian Olaf Hoffsbakken. In the same year West Bergh won the 18 km cross-country race at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival. The starting for the club Anundsjö IF West Bergh 1938 also won the Swedish Championships in Nordic combined. A year later he was again included in the squad for the 1939 Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane. He again won silver in the 4x10 km cross-country relay. Between 1940 and 1942 West Bergh won three times the Swedish championship title.
