Willi Egger

Wilhelm " Willi" Egger ( born October 7, 1932 in Murau, † 29 April, 2008 Murau ) was an Austrian ski jumpers and Nordic combined.

By 1956 Egger was active as a Nordic skier and competed in the Winter Olympics 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo in the individual competition. In the end, he finished in 16th place.

After the games, Egger joined the ski jumping. From December 1956 he started at the Four Hills Tournament. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley, he ended the competition on the normal hill on points with Canadians Gerry Gravelle on the 34th place.

His most successful Four Hills Tournament, he completed 1961 /62. He won in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen and stood at the end on the second place in the Tour overall standings. Previously, he had already won the New Year's on January 1, 1958 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1964 in Innsbruck, he joined again for Austria and jumped on the normal hill on the 44th. On the large hill he jumped to 12th place.
