Aulonogyrus

Aulonogyrus striatus

Aulonogyrus is a genus of the family of whirligig beetles ( Gyrinidae ). It occurs in Europe with two types; in Central Europe it is only Aulonogyrus concinnus home.

Features

The beetles have a smooth body with a yellow margin. The elytra have 11 at the base fine chagrinierte ( scar- like pattern ), matt furrows. The pronotum is without transverse furrow.

The larvae differ from those of the genus Gyrinus by its broader and gedrungenere body shape, shorter gill attachments, and the centrally tetradentate head shield.
