Auramine-rhodamine stain

The auramine - rhodamine staining is a colorization method in order to investigate bacteria with acid resistant cell wall as mycobacteria by fluorescence microscopy. This Mycobacterium tuberculosis is particularly demonstrated the causative agent of tuberculosis. It belongs to the cold dyes and is compared with the Ziehl- Neelsen stain much faster. The staining solution consists of auramine O and rhodamine B.
