Aurel Guga

Aurel Guga ( born August 10, 1898 in Újmoldova, Austria - Hungary, † June 6, 1936 in Timişoara, Timiş county ) was a Romanian football player. He participated in the 1924 Olympics.

Career

Guga began his career at Vulturii Lugoj and moved in 1921 to Universitatea Cluj. With "U Cluj " he could in 1924 and 1925 to qualify for the final round of the Romanian Football Championship, but failed there in the first game. After a brief stint at Unirea Timişoara he joined in 1926 UCAS Petrosani, missed there but also to participate in the finals like in his time from 1927 to 1929 at Jiul Lupeni.

National

Guga played twelve games for the Romanian national football team, scoring four goals. He made his debut in the first official international match Romania on June 8, 1922 against Yugoslavia where he scored the winning goal. In 1924 he was in the squad of Romania for the football tournament of the Olympic Games in Paris, where he was employed in the match against the Netherlands.

Aurel Guga was in nine games captain of the national team.
