Australian Centre for Contemporary Art

The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA ) ( German: Australian Centre of contemporary art ) is an art gallery, in the Sturt Street in downtown South Bank of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia, is located.

The ACCA is a created from stainless COR-TEN steel building, which was designed by the Melbourne architect Wood Marsh and in 2002 it was presented to the public. The building houses four gallery spaces of different sizes, which connect to a large foyer.

The building won an Australian architectural prize for its monolithic sculptural form. In conjunction with this modern building, the Malthouse Theatre is located, is listed in the today's performance art.

The whole complex is called Ngargee, which is the name of an aboriginal tribe of the Bunurong. The term means a holding of an historical celebration with dancing and singing in the language of the Aborigines.

Next to the building there is the yellow sculpture Vault by Ron Robertson - Swann, which is called in Melbourne Yellow Peril.
