Avid Free DV

Avid Free DV was a free version of the professional video editing software from Avid for Mac OS X and Windows XP.

The program could be downloaded for free from the Avid FreeDV website. It was discontinued on September 4, 2007, a necessary for installation register the program is no longer possible. The installation file can be found through search engines on the Internet (important for those who have lost their copy of the installation file, but the registry still have it).

Video can be loaded and played just about the FireWire interface, and there are a maximum of two video and two audio tracks available for editing.

The range of effects is relatively large, but lacking as 3D Warp, and only a small part of the available in the professional versions of effects is available. In addition to playing out on a DV tape, you can export the video as a QuickTime. All other compatibilities are locked, even though the surface is almost identical to the aligned to professional use programs Xpress DV and Xpress Pro Avid.
