Aya Nakahara

Aya Nakahara (Japanese中原 アヤ, Nakahara Aya, born July 28, 19xx in the Prefecture of Osaka, Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist.

The short story Haru to Kūki to Nichiyobi was the first manga, the Nakahara published professionally. This was published in 1995 in Bessatsu Margaret, a manga magazine of Shueisha Publishing House for adolescent girls, for which she has since mostly worked. Appeared in 1997 with Benkyo shi nasai! their first series. In Hanada, which then came out in two anthologies from 2000 to 2001 in Bessatsu Margaret and she tells the story of a seemingly flawless young people, the change from a girls' school to a mixed school and there is looking for a suitable partner.

Nakaharas most famous work is Lovely Complex, for which she won the Kodansha Manga Award in the shōjo category 2004. In this romantic comedy, which was published from 2001 to 2006 in about 2700 pages in Bessatsu Margaret, the protagonists are an above-average high school student and her classmate smaller than average. The two decide to hook up with each other. Lovely Complex was reacted with sales of over ten million to a major commercial success and became both a live-action movie as well as an anime television series.

Her work is translated into English, Italian and French.
