Ayam Brand

Ayam Brand is the oldest consumer brands in Asia. Ayam means "rooster" in Malay language. The main product is traditional " sardines in tomato sauce ".

The red and yellow Ayam tin belongs in Southeast Asia to the known food brands. The annual production amounts to more than 60 million doses, the company employs over 1,000 staff. The main products are canned fish ( sardines, mackerel, tuna ), Asian food ingredients ( coconut, Asian sauces and pastes), fruits and vegetables, especially beans.

A consumer survey from 2007, conducted by Synovate, a part of the Ayam brand brands like Nissan, L' Oreal, Heinz, or American Express among the top 200 consumer brands in Asia. ( Ayam Brand was in 2007 on the 179th place).

History

The Frenchman Alfred Clouet founded in 1892 in Singapore, which is part of British Malaya was then, a company called Ayam. The business initially focused on the food distribution for the members of the colonial powers and the construction industry. In 1954 the company was taken over by " Denis Frères Group of Companies ". The name of the founder can still be found in some parts of the company and company names: A. Clouet & Co (KL ) Sdn. Bhd for Malaysia, Clouet Trading Pte. Ltd. in Singapore or A. Clouet ( Australia) Pty Ltd in Australia - New Zealand. The sole owner of Ayam brand today the company " Ayam SARL ".

While the distribution is concentrated in the first half of the 20th century in Malaysia, the international sales was only developed in the 1950s. Today, the Ayam brand is a market leader in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia and Hong Kong.
